Scott R. Thomas, author of the upcoming book, 'A Young Man's Game,' was born in Pottsville, PA. At a young age Scott became involved within his church and community. By the age of 15 he was assisting in local campaigns and was the founder and chairman of the Schuylkill County Teenage Republicans. In 2008, at only the age of 18, Scott defied the party odds as he was elected to a seat on the Republican State Committee. The following year, Scott was victorious again by winning a seat to the Pottsville Area School Board, in which he served until the end of his term in 2013. On January 15, 2013, Scott announced his campaign for Mayor of Pottsville, although winning handily in the Republican Primary, he was defeated by an incumbent city councilman.
In
2012, Scott was also elected to represent the 17th Congressional
District as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention.
'A Young Man's Game,' is about getting involved in your community and taking risks that make the community a better place. The book serves as an insight to the successes and challenges that Scott has faced throughout the start of his career in public service.
